Ronald Anthony “Buck” Studer
Ronald Anthony “Buck” Studer, 85, of Hebron, KY passed away Friday, May 26, 2023, surrounded by his family. He was born on July 8, 1937 in Covington, KY. Buck attended St. Henry High School in Erlanger, KY. At the age of 14, he built and operated his own “Ham” radio and talked to people all around the world. In October 1954, he enlisted in the US Marine Corp, where he graduated at the top of his class in radio telegraph operators’ training. Buck was stationed in San Diego, CA as a Corporal until October 1957. He attended an engineering school in Washington, D.C., before returning to Kentucky where he accepted a position with General Electric. He worked for over 40 years at GE as an aeronautical control engineer before retiring in 1999.
Buck was proud to be a lifetime member of the NRA and enjoyed many years hunting and fishing on his farm. In his younger days, he enjoyed working in his garden and raising a few heads of cattle. After retirement, Buck enjoyed watching the Cincinnati Bengals, Cincinnati Reds, and of course, UK Wildcats basketball. He also enjoyed the challenges of working Sudoku puzzles and playing solitaire.
Buck was preceded in death by his parents, Proctor and Lillian (Wagner) Studer; his sisters, Naomi Dickman, Rose Marie Brummer, and Jeanine Dietz; his brother-in-law, Michel Herrmann; and his sister-in-law, Myra Thomas.
He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Marlynn Studer (nee Herrmann); his children, Vickie (Jim) Cox, Michael (Rhonda) Studer, Shanon (Tim) Adams, and Douglas (Amy) Studer; his brother, Richard (Karla) Studer; and his sibling-in-laws, Mary Ann Hermann, Marita Van Meter, Marty Herrmann, Jim Thomas, and Angie Herrmann.
He also leaves behind his grandchildren, Melissa (Eric) Sheffel, Emily (Christophe) Hardouin-Cox, Todd (Jade) Cox, Sam Studer, Zach (Charlotte) Widgren, Josh Widgren, Taylor Adams, Cole Adams, and Chase Adams; and great-grandchildren, Stephen, Gregory, David, Liam, Elliot, Louise, and Joey.
Services will be handled by Linnemann Funeral Home and will be held at the convenience of the family.
