Jean Ruth Moeves
Jean Ruth Moeves (nee Vastine), 94, of Ft. Wright, KY, passed away on Sunday, April 16, 2023 at St. Elizabeth Hospice in Edgewood, KY surrounded by her daughters. Jean joins her husband and soulmate of 74 years, Lou Moeves, just a short 3 weeks after his passing. Jean was an avid golfer, card player, scrabble player, and she enjoyed a good crossword puzzle. Jean was the matriarchal socialite of the family who always enjoyed being with friends and family, whether it was playing in the Ladies Golf League at Ryland Lakes Country Club, having a glass of wine at a cocktail party, or cutting it up on the dance floor.
She was a longtime member of Gloria Dei Lutheran Church and Ryland Lakes Country Club.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lou Moeves; her parents, Clarence Sr. and Grace Vastine; her siblings, Thomas Vastine, Dennis Vastine, Mary Jane Knasel, Barbara Vastine, and Clarence “Benny” Vastine Jr.; her grandson, Andy Mistler; and her grandson-in-law, Alex Gray.
Jean leaves behind her daughters, Margie (Dennis) Green, Marsha (Guy) Linnemann, and Michele (Greg) Mistler; her sister, Martha Rheynard; and her brother-in-law, Fred (Rose) Moeves.
She also leaves behind her grandchildren, Matthew (Danielle) Green, Michael Mistler, Meredith Gray, Mavis (Doug) Linnemann-Clark, Chad Mistler, Paige (Bart) Pindela, Louis (Chelsea) Linnemann, Annie (Josh) Denney, and Jakub (Emily) Pindela; and her great-grandchildren, Dominic, Christian, Eliza, Reid, Sophia, Phoebe, Alanna, Rylan, Althea, and Faye, whom she adored; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
A funeral service for Jean will be on Friday, April 21, 2023 at 4:00PM at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church in Crestview Hills, KY, with a reception to follow at the church. She will be entombed at St. Mary Cemetery in Ft. Mitchell, KY.
