Dorothy Rose Gibbs

On Tuesday, October 25, Dorothy Gibbs, of Burlington, KY, passed away at St. Elizabeth Hospital surrounded by her loving family.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Don, of 57 years. Her parents Eliza and Albert Monroe, her sister Joan Monroe, twin brother Lloyd Monroe, and brother Bill Monroe.

She is survived by her children Donald (Cindy) Gibbs, Linda (Troy) Laile, Ron (Monica) Gibbs, and Rhonda (Daniel) Ford, and her siblings, Ralph Monroe and Helen Dunbar.

She also leaves behind her grandchildren: Elizabeth Gibbs, Donald Gibbs Jr., Clancy Laile, Allison Laile, Angela Ford, Austin Gibbs, Sarah Ford, Alexis Gibbs, four great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Dorothy worked at Albert’s Supermarket, Cincinnati, for several years. She was a homemaker who loved taking care of her family. She was also an excellent cook and enjoyed holidays, family time, and travel.

Dorothy grew up in Belize and later came to the states where she attended God’s Bible College, Cincinnati, OH. She traveled to many states doing boundless evangelical and humanitarian work along with her siblings. Dorothy and her siblings did live radio broadcasts of religious hymns heard around the world.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday November 2, 2022 from 10:00am to 12:30pm at Linnemann Funeral Homes, Burlington. A funeral service will immediately follow at 12:30pm. Dorothy will be laid to rest at Hebron Lutheran Cemetery. Following the graveside service a reception will be held at Linnemann Funeral Homes, Burlington.
