I just found this today. Merrlene crossed my mind so I googled her. I am so very sad. I hadn’t seen her in 20 or so years. I remember the first time I met her. My roommate and I were having a party in 1977 or so. My friend, Mike, said he was bringing a date. When they arrived, there was this beautiful young lady. All of a sudden my roommate yells Merrlene and Merrlene yells Marta and they hug and laugh. Turns out they went to school together. That was wild! What are the odds the both of them in Frankfort at this little apartment . Merrlene was so sweet. I always enjoyed being around her and I truly am sad.

Merrlene, I know you are partying and enjoying heaven! Besides being a fun and lively person, you were a good soul. So sorry that you passed away so young. My condolences to Chad and your sisters.

Merrlene was great

As were all the Nixon girls. A wonderful family. I have’nt seen the girls in years now as I no longer live in Kentucky. I will never forget all the fun we had years ago on Martin and Pleasant street. Rest In Peace Merrlene.

God Bless You All

Merrlene was a very special person. I’ll never forget how she left her home in Florida to come up and stay with my boy, Bobby Eubanks, when he was suffering from cancer. I am sending love and prayers to all her family at this trying time. God bless you all.
