James Michael “Mike” Clark, 66, of Burlington, KY passed away Tuesday, March 29, 2022 at his dream home in Burlington, KY. He was born December 21, 1955 in Columbus, GA to the late James and Barbara Clark. Mike proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy as a member of the elite Nuclear Power and Submariner communities for 12 years. He worked and recently retired from Marriott Hotels as a Director of Engineering after 33 years of service. He was the proud father of Samuel and Glenn, and the beloved Grandfather to Sam’s 5 children. His death was sudden and unexpected and his absence will leave an emptiness in those that knew him that can never be filled. He is survived by his loving sons: Sam (Amber Marie) Clark, and Glenn Clark, his beloved grandchildren: Corey, Kali, Makenna, Kellen, and Carrigan Clark, and several other loving relatives and friends. Services for James will be handled in private at the convenience of his family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Honorable Order of Kentucky Colonels in memory of James.

Gone But Not Forgotten
Mike was a great leader who always knew how to manage. He always told me that if you know how something is supposed to work it makes fixing things much easier but also knowing how to get the job done whatever it may be. Most importantly always doing the right thing for the right reason and proper planning prevents piss poor performance. You may no longer be with us physically but rest assured those that have spent time in your circle have certainly taken life lessons along with them and I speak from my own experience.

On behalf of the United States Submarine Veterans, we offer our sincere condolences at James’ passing. Please know that you are in our thoughts and prayers. We are always saddened whenever a fellow “Bubblehead” departs on Eternal Patrol. He served with honor in the U.S. Submarine Force.
