Carol Jean Shippe

Carol J. Shippe, 83, of Burlington, KY formerly of Lorain, OH passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 1, 2022 at St. Elizabeth Hospice Facility in Edgewood, KY. She was born June 30, 1938 in Lorain, OH to the late Wallace and Agnes Bates.  Carol was a former member of the Episcopal Guild at the Episcopal Church of the Redeemer in Lorain. She was also an avid reader, and she loved to do crossword puzzles. Carol also enjoyed cooking and spending time with her family. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, and she always made her family her top priority. She was preceded in death by her brother, Wallace Bates, and her sister-in-law, Mary Bates. Carol is survived by her loving husband Edward Shippe, her beloved children: Joanne (Jim) Goddard, Michael (Carmen) Shippe, and Steve (Rhonda) Shippe, 6 cherished grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren. Services for Carol will be handled in private at the convenience of her family.
