Condolences
Donald Charles Schaeffer Born August 17, 1946 passed away in the hospital surrounded by family the evening of November 15th at age 75. Don took great pride raising his four children, and even greater pride in watching them raise his eight grandchildren. He happily attended every ball game, wrestling match, horse show, graduation, play, and birthday party no matter how far or long they may have been, and despite his less than stellar eyesight. Don excelled in teaching hundreds of kids to be great soccer players and hundreds of kids to become great adults. He was always a steadfast competitor, and encouraging coach. He had an evergreen thumb and could grow prize winning tomatoes the size of softballs every year without fail. He was so many things but most of all he was a father, grandfather ,brother and friend who will be missed always.
He is survived by his children Elysia Pentecost, Shawn Schaeffer (Rose), Holly Rentschler (Brian), Ryan Schaeffer (Jaime).  His grandchildren John, Peyton, Brandon, Tanner, Ty, Alex, Avery, Mia.  His sister JoAnn Bridley, brothers Andrew Schaeffer and Clem Schaeffer.
In lieu of a service Don wanted all his friends and family to gather for a celebration of life. Please join us on November 27th from 1-4 at Clem Schaeffer’s restaurant, Garzellis   3160 Dixie Hwy Erlanger, KY 41018
His family will be donating a bench in his honor to Idlewild Park, where he walked daily. If you would like to donate please Venmo @Peyton-Pentecost, or donate at any 5/3 bank in Honor of Don Schaeffer.

My sisters and nieces walked at Idlewild Park and would very often see him with his friends walking and they would ALWAYS say HI!! He will be greatly missed. We also found out that he is Mrs. Bridley’s brother!! and we have known her for many years!! Prayers and condolences to the family!! May he rest in the Peace of Jesus and His Mother Mary.

So deeply sorry

So very sorry on the passing of Donnie. Knew him for many years (Especially when we were younger). He was a fine person. My deepest sympathy to his brothers, sister, children and grandchildren.

With Love, Hope Ellis Kinman
