Thomas J. Borros
Thomas J. Borros, 88, of Independence, KY, passed away on Friday, December 18, 2020 at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Florence. He was an Army veteran that served in the Korean War and was a member of the American Legion. Tom retired after 30 plus years in management with the horse and dog racing industry. He worked at tracks in Nebraska, Florida, Minnesota and Wisconsin.
Tom liked watching war documentaries and Jeopardy and was an avid Cincinnati Reds and Green Bay Packers fan. He enjoyed talking with friends and family, drinking gin and beer, sitting outdoors, listening to forties music and talking to Alexa. Tom was loved for his humor, sayings, and stories and he will be dearly missed by family and friends.
Tom was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Deanna Borros (nee John) and brother Hodge Borros (who passed September 8th).
He is survived by his siblings, Sister Mary Belle Borros CDP of Melbourne, KY, and David (Marilyn) Borros of Olmsted Township, OH. He also leaves behind many nieces, nephews and friends.
Visitation for Tom will be on Tuesday, December 22, 2020 from 5:00pm-6:00pm at St. Cecilia Church in Independence, KY. Mass of Christian burial will follow the visitation at 6:00pm at the church. He will be buried at a later date at Calvary Cemetery in Omaha, NE.
Guests and visitors for Tom’s services are asked to wear face coverings in the church and to social distance once inside.
