Beulah “Rae” Mitchell
Beulah Rae Mitchell nee: Collis died and joined her husband in Heaven on May 4, 2020 at the age of 97. She is remembered as having a hard working and giving nature. Rae, as she went by, graduated from Lloyd High School in 1941, where she spent time as a cheerleader and in various school clubs. After high school, Rae went on to work for newly opened Greater Cincinnati Airport. She originally helped pilots, gathering weather information. Later, Rae became the secretary for the general manager of TWA. 1959 was a big year for Rae. She not only switched jobs to become the secretary for Lloyd high school, she married the love of her life Maurice Mitchell. Together they were active members of Immanuel United Methodist Church. Rae devoted much of her time to helping others. She was a founding member of the Bettie Carter Morgan Woman’s Club where she spent countless hours volunteering for good causes. Rae was also a Sunday School teacher and original member of the Lloyd Alumni Association. She will be missed by those who survive her, brother, Terry Collis and wife Sandi Collis; nephew, Douglas Collis, the DeLong Family and her many other family, friends and neighbors. Rae joins her beloved Maurice in death. A private service will be held for Rae at Forest Lawn Memorial Park. She was a true reflection of our Lord’s commandment to love one another. We will truly miss her.
A Remarkable Christian Individual
Blessings and prayers extended to the Mitchell family. May their sadness be an encouragement to the life that the couple lived and embodied in Christian spirit-hood. The couple was an inspiration to our family (the Norwood’s) as they were always so welcoming and friendly to ALL who came to church. Be it they were a long-time member or a first-time guest, the Mitchell’s always displayed an open and loving feeling to ALL they encountered. They WILL CERTAINLY BE MISSED; here’s to knowing that they ARE WELCOMING TO ALL IN HEAVEN as they were on Earth. Prayers and blessings.
Rae and Maurice, now together in Glory
They were a lovely Christian couple who bestowed lasting blessings upon all who knew them. I especially remember Rae’s spiritual strength and welcoming presence in IUMC and UMW. When I once brought my daughter’s African American friend and her mother to a UMW mother’s day luncheon, Rae was the only person who came to our table, introduced herself, welcomed my guests to IUMC, and invited them back. I will never forget this. So happy for you to be with Our Lord and Maurice, Rae, but your compassion, sweet spirituality, and genuine servanthood live on with us forever. A Truly Christian Woman
Rae devoted her energy to Christian education at Immanuel UMC and also our Covington District. She was a spiritual mother to countless children. She was a mentor to our young women who followed her in service. Betty Minor
Special Servant
Rae taught our children in Sunday School, was a devoted church member, and sweet friend. A favorite memory is when United Methodist Women had a style show of wedding dresses and she modeled her wedding dress. She absolutely glowed! We’re thankful to have known her and Maurice.

Tribute
Much love and appreciation to Rae for her steadfast beliefs, strong moral values and kind hearted spirit toward all of God’s children. She taught my children in Sunday school and has always asked about them as they grew up. Rest in peace dear saint …we love you!
Hug for family of Rae Mitchell
She came every year on Memorial day to visit her Andrews relatives in Ohio. It was important for her to remember those passed on so she would visit several local cemeteries and place flowers. Our children called her ” the chewing gum lady” because she always brought them a pack of their own to enjoy. Don remembers a time that Rae took him and his parents to the greater Cincinnati airport and he actually got to board an empty plane on the airfield. Quite a thrill for a six year old boy. I loved to talk about flowers with her .
Good and Faithful Servant
Rae and Maurice were two of the first people to welcome us to Immanuel in 1985. From her years of Sunday School service she showed me the ropes when I became involved in Children’s ministry . She also was kind to my 3 sons during her ministry. I loved hearing the story of how she and Maurice met and began dating .

Remembering you
Rae Mitchell seemed to be part of the fabric of Erlanger during most of my life. She was a part of many organizations and always seen at community gatherings. She was ready to help any good cause. She and Maurice even volunteered to help Lloyd’s Academic Boosters at one of the fundraising dinner theaters the group sponsored. I’ve missed seeing her during the last years of her life, but I was always glad to know that she was still with us. I’ll miss her.

I first met Rae and Maurice when my husband, Jerry, and I joined Erlanger United Methodist Church in 1960. They were a a Christian couple who worked for the Lord whenever they were asked. We remained friends when they started attending Immanuel UM Church. When I would see them in the community at various places, they always asked how my family was and we had a nice conversation. Since I too loved sports, I would usually see them at Lloyd’s basketball and football games. They were two great cheerleaders. My beloved Mrs Mitchell
Mrs Mitchell was such a lovely woman. One year she drove a carload of rambunctious kiddos (me included) to Aldersgate church camp and that cemented my love for her. She always had a smile and a hug for me, and I adored her. I’m so grateful that she’s part of my history. ❤️
I Will Never Forget You
Rae was a resident at Magnolia Springs Florence before going to Florence Park Care. I was her housekeeper at both places and loved how she would always tell me that Terry was her little brother. I remember her coming to Magnolia when she was 95 and was still doing back stretches on the floor. Now that was amazing at that age. My mom shared a birthday with her same year as well. You rest now and enjoy your wings.
