Robert ‘Bob’ William Oldiges; …Father, Uncle, Good Ol’ Boy, Ladies’ man and Comedian.
Born September 16th, 1949 * Died May 3rd, 2020
Survived by Hilary Rowland (Daughter, Husband: Robert Rowland) and Kimberly White (Niece, Husband: Jim Dawson)
The baby of the family and a native Cold Spring Kentuckian, ‘Bob’ grew up with the nickname ‘DOT’ and went to Campbell County High School.
Bob was a retired HVAC Engineer and enjoyed tinkering and fixing just about everything from cars to furnaces and would even do roof work well into his sixty’s much to the dismay of his loved ones.
Bob was a loyal friend. When he passed he still had friends from when he was 6 years old and made new friends every year of his life, the last year included.
Bob was a loving father. He was generous. He was loved by his daughter. He taught her to play catch, to use power tools, to drive and to take no grief.
Bob was dependable.
He was a hit at parties throughout his life and his jokes were of the sharpest and driest wit – forever to be repeated in infamous circles in his memory.
Forever a lover of shrimp cocktail and BLT’s made with home-grown tomatoes, we will miss him deeply.
He will forever remain an Absolute Legend in our hearts.

It is a terrible day indeed when one loses a parent and your father was both adored and adoring. He was so very proud of you, Hilary and a parent can’t ask for much more than that. We are so sorry that we met him only once, at your wedding, as it would have been good to know him better. Sending sincere condolences with much love, Edward and Jean xxx

So sorry for your loss. It was always a pleasure to see him at the Christmas luncheon each year. He always had a smile and a story. And he really lit up when he spoke of you. You were the light of his life. Please know that he will always be with you, guiding you through life.

We were saddened to hear of Bob’s passing. Jim and Bob were “besties” when they were kids (trouble makers in a fun way) to be sure. Bob was in our wedding and will be missed.

Bob the Comedian
There were 2 timeframes Bob scheduled daily for. The call from Hilary and watching Gunsmoke at 1pm. He Nick named some of his friends. The lawyer was one who wanted to know about everything in his life. He really laughed at the movie Christmas vacation I brought to watch. It was an honor to know him his last few years of life.
Heaven has a new Angel now. Uncle Bob you will be missed.
