Robert Barnett Jr.
Robert Berry Barnett Jr., 79, passed away on Friday, April 24, 2020, at his Burlington, KY residence. Robert was born in Covington, KY on December 10, 1940 to the late Robert Berry Barnett Sr. and Jane Dorgan Barnett. Robert worked as a welder and an assembler for various companies. He was a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Church and Boonedockers at IHM. He was preceded in death by his brother Vernon Barnett and sister Nancy Barnett McCafferty. He leaves behind the love of his life of 49 years Nancy Rauen Barnett. His love for his family was seen by all that knew him especially his four children Shelley Crowley(Brian), Brian Barnett, Tom Barnett (Erin), and Christopher Barnett (Beth), and seven grandchildren Will, Lauren, Quinn, Luke, Peter, Emily, and Kathryn. He is also survived by his sister Terri Barnett Schwarber, brother John Barnett, and several nieces and nephews. Such a gentle and kind man
One of my earliest memories of Bob was him waking up Main St. in South Newport dressed in his army uniform and his duffle bag over his shoulder. I was sitting on our front porch by myself and happened to see someone walking up the street. It was Bob returning from the his service to our country. Of course grandma Dorgan lived with us. I think he must have gotten to Newport and decided to walk up to our house. I think my Mom called his Mom (Jane) and had them come there to see him. It was probably a surprise of some sort.
I never saw him angry or upset. He always had a smile for me and a gently chuckle that made you feel at home.
Nancy, Shelley, Brian, Tom & Chris – please know that you are in my prayers and I am also remembering Bob’s soul in my daily prayers.
