Alan Scott Benken
Alan Scott Benken, 58, of Erlanger, KY, passed away on February 19, 2020 at Hospice Care of St. Elizabeth in Edgewood, KY. Scott was a transportation manager for Natorp’s Co for 19 years. He was preceded in death by his parents. Scott is survived by his loving wife of 35 years, Karla Benken; and his children, Darryl Benken (Emily) and Avery Benken (Sara). He also leaves behind his grandchildren, Brody and Alexander. Services will be held privately at the convenience of the family. My Big Brother
Scott was my protector when I was in high school. I never had a big brother and Scott became that big brother to me when I got picked on on the school bus. From that day forward he literally became a part of my family. We were great friends and even after I left home for college Scott continued to go over to my house to visit my mom and step-dad. Like he became my big brother, my mom and stepfather became his surrogate parents. I’m so sorry we didn’t stay in close contact. Thank you for being my protector!! You will be missed. Karla, my thought and prayer are with you and the kids. Rest Easy Scott!!
Gentle Giant
He was a big man, in size and spirit but the way he looked at Karla showed the gentle man he truly was. They have a love that will last the test of time, high school sweethearts forever. Go rest now, your work on earth is done but your spirit and love will never be forgotten.
Scott was The Man!
Scott was The Man! At work he would pickup plants that would normally take 2 guys to load. He was passionate about his job and always made sure that it was accurate. He sometimes got a little loud but I always thought it was so you could hear him anywhere on the nursery without the benefit of a radio. Great sense of humor, though with his size I wasn’t about to say his jokes weren’t funny. He has and will always be missed at Natorp’s. Good guy!
