Attis “Lark” Leon Smith

Attis “Lark” Leon Smith, of Burlington, KY, passed away at the age of 87, on Wednesday, February 12, 2020, in Walton, KY surrounded by his loving family. Cherished son of the late Attis Marion Smith and Ona May Smith; beloved husband of 63 years to the late Bea Smith, devoted father of Greg (Sandy) Smith; dear brother of Evelyn and the late Harry, Ruth and Doris; loving grandfather of Jayme (Tyler) Gray, Jessica (Bill) Werner and Josh Smith; great-grandfather of Kyle (Brittany) Lawrence, Morgan Lawrence, and Addyson Sowders; great-great-grandfather of Oliver and Oakley Lawrence; and dear uncle to many nieces and nephews. Attis “Lark” honorably served his country in the US Air Force. He devoted most of his life’s work to the United States Postal Service. He retired from the Burlington Post Office after 30+ years of service to the local community. Lark and Bea where long-time members of Burlington Baptist Church. They enjoyed numerous trips throughout the US with their friends and fellow church members. Attis “Lark” had a talent for gardening and enjoyed times spent outdoors tending to his fruit trees and garden.  Attis “Lark” was deeply loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 15, 2020, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Linnemann Funeral Home in Burlington, KY. Funeral Service will start at 1:00 PM at the Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Burlington Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Attis “Lark’s” honor may be made to: Burlington Baptist Church 3031 Washington St. Burlington, KY 41005.
